As the Graphic Designer for the Surf Safe Noosa campaign, I'm excited to share this initiative focused on safety and understanding for surfers navigating our waters alongside iconic marine species, including sharks.

I was commissioned to design a visually engaging public education campaign featuring a seasonal calendar with key messages for young surfers and tourists on how to navigate local conditions safely. Once the poster calendar was completed, the client and I collaborated on the idea of an interactive spinning game wheel that could be used to educate children in school, allowing them to learn the message in a fun way.

This project originated from workshops facilitated by shark expert Dr. Andrew Chin of James Cook University in August 2022, addressing recommendations from the NBRF Marine Species Protection Symposium in 2021. Public education emerged as the top priority among the four recommendations.

Working closely with local stakeholders, including the Noosa World Surfing Reserve Steering Committee, Noosa Council, Surfrider Sunshine Coast, and others, we created a unique campaign aligned with the Noosa World Surfing Reserve's mission to Share, Respect, and Preserve our environment.
