Barbara is a multidisciplinary designer with over 17 years of experience across graphic design, branding and marketing.

As the founder and creative director of Puka Studio, she brings together creativity, strategy and a deep understanding of business to deliver work that is both visually compelling and commercially effective.

Her passion for design began early.

A young girl with braided hair, wearing a white shirt and light blue apron, drawing on a sketch pad on an easel in a cozy room with a chair, a table, and some apples.

Growing up in Brazil, Barbara was drawn to art in all its forms — painting, drawing, experimenting with colour and typography, often extending far beyond paper and into the world around her. What began as instinctive creativity evolved into a professional path when she studied Graphic Design and Marketing, learning how to translate artistic intuition into clear, strategic design solutions.

Barbara is known for her ability to quickly understand what clients are trying to achieve.

“My role is to understand what a client is trying to say — sometimes before they know how to say it — and translate that into design that works.”

Often articulating ideas they haven’t yet been able to express themselves. This intuitive approach, combined with extensive industry experience, allows her to create brand and design outcomes that feel aligned, intentional, and relevant to each client’s audience.

Her design style is adaptable rather than fixed. Barbara works fluidly across styles, industries, and personalities, tailoring each project to suit the client’s business, goals, and market. As the industry continues to evolve, so does her approach — ensuring the work remains current, effective, and considered.

Based in Noosa, Barbara is well known among locals and long-term clients, many of whom return repeatedly for new projects and ongoing collaborations. She is recognised for her strong client relationships, efficient processes, fast turnaround times and a consistently high level of service.

“A strong brand should be felt at every touchpoint — visually, spatially and emotionally.”
